Students complete 3 modules to gain an AS Level.

 

Module 1 – The Individual and Society

Introducing the individual and society.

Culture and the formation of identities

 

Module 2 – Culture and Socialisation

At least one from:   Family

                             Mass Media

                             Religion

                             Youth and Culture

 

Module 3

Either, Sociological research Skills, or a Research Report.

 

ASSESSMENT

Module 1 – 1 hour exam

Module 2 – 1 ½ hour exam

Module 3 – 1 hour exam

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

GCSE Sociology, or interview with

Tutor.

 

COURSE MATERIALS

Writing materials. Text book as advised by tutor.

 

DURATION

32 weeks at 2 ½ hours class time, Students should also undertake a minimum of 2 hours individual study.

 

PROGRESSION

Full Sociology A level.
