DETAILS

This subject helps students to develop an awareness of a range of themes, including:

 

The influences of inborn characteristics

The role of learning in shaping behaviour

Social & Cultural Influences

The Influences of Thinking and Perception

Psychological Methodology, which includes knowledge of

1.       Ways of discovering and testing psychological knowledge

2.     Carrying out practical research

3.     Ethical Concerns in research

 

ASSESSMENT

One 2 hour exam (80%)

Coursework (20%)

 

DATE OF EXAM 20 JUNE 2002

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A good level of literacy

 

COURSE MATERIALS

Writing materials. Text book as advised by tutor.

 

DURATION

32 weeks at 2 ½ hours class time, PLUS 1 hour coursework session.  Students should also undertake a minimum of 2 hours individual study.
