DETAILS

This course is designed for existing lunchtime supervisors who would like to gain a certificate as recognition of their skills, or individuals who are interested in becoming a lunchtime supervisor.

The course provides participants with the opportunity to discuss and share good practice. Topics covered are designed to help participants cope with emergencies, help children to make friends, recognise and deal with bullying, encourage children to express their emotions and develop appropriate methods of behaviour management within the school setting.

 

ASSESSMENT

Students are assessed on a completed portfolio containing notes from class discussions and a logbook reflecting on their experiences in school at lunchtime.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students must be able to complete a minimum of 5 lunchtime sessions in a school.

 

COURSE MATERIALS

Ring Binder and File Paper

 

DURATION

30 hours plus 5 lunchtime sessions in school during the lunchtime period.

 

PROGRESSION

NVQ Early Years Care & Education.

Certificate in Basic Counselling Skills (3702)

 

QUALIFICATION GAINED

NCFE CERTIFICATE FOR MIDDAY SUPERVISORS (DfEE Approved)
