You will explore plot structure, characterisation, setting/atmosphere, style and viewpoint and will develop your skills of critical analysis.

The course is ideal for adults who are unsure about A level and would like to develop their confidence and skills before moving onto the demands of advanced study.

One, 2 ¼ exam paper (70%)

Coursework (30%)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You need to have already passed, or be

currently studying, GCSE English

Language.

 

COURSE MATERIALS

Writing materials. Text book as advised by tutor.

 

DURATION

32 weeks at 2 ½ hours class time, PLUS 1 hour coursework session.  Students should also undertake a minimum of 2 hours individual study.
