DETAILS

This course is designed to develop appreciation and enjoyment of English Literature. It includes poetry, prose and drama. There are three separate modules.

 

Module 1 – The Modern Novel

A detailed study of one modern novel written in the second half of the twentieth century.

 

Module 2 – Shakespeare

A detailed study of one Shakespeare text.

 

Module 3 – Texts  in Context

A study of two texts, one poetry and one drama.

 

ASSESSMENT

Module 1 – 1 hour exam

Module 2 – Coursework

Module 3  - 2 hour exam

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

GCSE English Literature at grade C

or above, or interview with tutor.

 

COURSE MATERIALS

Writing materials. Text book as advised by tutor.

 

DURATION

32 weeks at 2 ½ hours class time, Students should also undertake a minimum of 2 hours individual study.
