DETAILS

There are two components:

 

Improvisation

Prepare and perform a piece of work devised by the group on a specific stimulus or theme.

 

Scripted Performance

Prepare and perform an extract from a play script.

 

The course is designed to develop your interest in and understanding of a range of drama and theatre experiences. You will work as part of a group. As well as the two hours per week there will be extra rehearsals. So be prepared to work hard and enjoy yourself.

 

ASSESSMENT

This is a very practical course. Students gain a GCSE on the basis of the work done during the course. There is no exam.

 

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

No previous experience required.

 

 

COURSE MATERIALS

Writing materials. Text book as advised by tutor.

 

DURATION

32 weeks at 2 1/2 hour class time, students should also undertake a minimum of two hours individual study

 

PROGRESSION

A/AS levels,

BTEC Performing Arts.
