DETAILS
This
course is aimed at people already working in the classroom situation who wish to
gain external accreditation for the work they already do. The course provides
the opportunity for classroom assistants to learn more about Child Development,
National Curriculum, Managing Children's Behaviour, Supporting Literacy and
Numeracy, Child Protection, Using Educational Resources, Responding to
Emergencies, Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities.
ASSESSMENT
Students
are assessed on a completed portfolio containing notes from class discussions
and a logbook reflecting on their experiences on placement.
ENTRY
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates
must have completed Classroom Assistants Stage 1 or have at least one year's
voluntary or paid experience in school. Candidates must be willing to arrange
and complete a minimum 20-hour placement in a school of their choice..
