DETAILS

This course will develop candidate’s knowledge and understanding of challenging behaviours. It offers the opportunity to develop observational skills and strategies relating to modifying behaviour in children and young people.

 

The course will cover the following areas:

Normative and challenging behaviour, communication and language, behaviours and behaviour patterns, identifying specific behaviours, setting rules and boundaries, designing modification schemes and rewards, managing behaviour in Special Needs Schools.

 

ASSESSMENT

Students will build up a portfolio of information including reports and evaluative accounts of strategies tried in the workplace.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must be experienced childcare workers currently working in a childcare setting. Minimum age 18 years. Candidates must also be able to produce written evidence to support work done.

 

COURSE MATERIALS

Ring binder and file paper.

DURATION

30 hrs.

 

PROGRESSION

Psychology A level,

CMS course.

NQF level 4 childcare qualifications.
